Joystick AND controller. Good morning Commanders of. I recently started playing Elite Dangerous and have been using an Xbox elite controller up until a few days ago. I also decided this game was the perfect excuse for me to finally get a HOTAS so I purchased an X52 Pro! Is it possible to setup both the X52 and an elite controller to do similar
To set them up in elite, you go into options/controls, choose which axis you want to set, then move the control you want to bind it to. Uriel's suggestion is a pretty standard setup for dual stick. There are very few instances where you'd want to use combinations of controls to do anything.

Try backing up your binds file fore mucking about, then try the default joystick binding, if it acknowleges your axis thats a start, if it doesnt try binding your asis and a couple of buttons, if the configuration screen is recognising inputs from your controller, you'll jsut need to redo your bindings.
Elite Dangerous. The official unofficial subreddit for Elite Dangerous, we even have devs lurking the sub! Elite Dangerous brings gaming’s original open world adventure to the modern generation with a stunning recreation of the entire Milky Way galaxy. Here battles rage, governments fall, and humanity’s frontier expands – and you can
It's hard to achieve this level of control with any other kind of setup (hotas with a mini stick on the throttle would give you the same amount of analog inputs, but probably would be a bit less precise). ozx23. The T16000m are a good cheap stick. Only issue is the twist, but there's good videos on how to fix it.
. I use. Left Stick = X lats, Y verts (inverted), Z fwd/back, Right Stick = X roll, Y pitch (inverted), Z yaw. The inverts are so pulling back on R = nose up, pulling back on L = ship up. The benefit of using the twist for fwd/back on left is that you retain equal scale movements on your verts/lats, rather than having the shorter-throw twist on
Can confirm. In fact, 2 joysticks, and a throttle (with an additional thumbstick). Could even add a game pad as well Just don't use Steams controller configuration. Most of the time it stops the game seeing the inputs. It even works beautifully with Vive, a joystick, a throttle, a wheel and pedals! :)

Index finger covers main trigger, the smaller rapid-fire trigger, and the upper side button. Thumb covers the red button, the hat switches, and the mini-analog. Pinkie covers the button at the bottom of the stick. Basically if you want to be able to do two things at the same time, you don't want the bindings in the same "zone" on the same stick.
What you want is a HOSAS setup (dual joystick), and for 100$ you wont be able to afford ONE recommended joystick. You can get a cheap set of T16000 (aptly called T16000 duo) for about 130, but they are known to have issues and require a bit of work to make them work well for long. You may want a HOTAS setup too.
